Tim McCabe - "Radio Auxiliary Cord"
(685 times read)
Well currently neither Suzuki or any other company for that matter produce an Auxiliary Cord for the stock radio.
Now this is as frustrating as it gets. One of the feature that won me over personally on the 06 grand Vitara was the fact that the radio seemed nice, 6 disc, mp3, and aux.
Well come to find out you cant use the Aux because no cord exists. UNTIL NOW!
An individual by the name Tim McCabe has figured out the schematics of the radio and was able to trace it to a blank plug located behind the glove box. He was then able to create a plug/cord that would activate the Aux on the radio.
So Metatrox quickly decided to try and get our hands on this product.
Tim has virtually donated a cord for us to write a review on.
- This is pretty much how the kit comes. It contains one cord, 3 zip ties, and a simple easy instuction manual.
- Once plugged in and hooked up you can plug in virtually any device that has headphone or rca out. I used my Cowon A2 which is known for its High Audio Quality output.
- All you have to do is press the Cd/Aux button and it will switch between them flawlessly. Be careful that when you setup the audio level because when switch from cd to aux the volume stays the same. So you will want to evenly distribute the level of cd and aux.
- You can select the line level by using the "Select Track" buttons to change between "hi , med , low".
- Do to the not so hot quality of the actual head unit your probably better off using the EQ setting of your audio player if it has any.
- You may wish to adjust the EQ slightly on the headunit to componsate for your audio player.
